Security Product Catalog and Price List Automation

A security catalog packs thousands of SKUs across CCTV and video surveillance, access control, intruder alarms and fire detection, each with its own spec table, approvals and accessories. Pagination generates multi-brand catalogs, installer price lists and product datasheets from the data you already keep in your PIM, ERP or supplier files.

When a model is discontinued, a grade changes or a price list is reissued, the documents are regenerated, not re-edited, for every brand, market and customer tier.

From Supplier Data to Security Catalogs in Three Steps

1

Collect brand and supplier data

Combine manufacturer feeds, your PIM, ERP prices and supplier Excel sheets, even when each brand names its attributes differently. Data arrives through the API, FTP or a manual upload.

2

Lay out every category from one template

The template decides how a camera, a reader or a detector is presented: spec columns, approval marks, compatible accessories and product photos are placed from each product record.

Release catalogs, price lists and datasheets

Produce PDF, InDesign or Excel files per brand, market and price tier, and keep every release on file, so you always know which price list a customer received.

What Makes Security Catalogs Hard to Automate

A security catalog is rarely one manufacturer’s range printed once a year. It mixes brands, technologies and approvals that change on different timelines, and installers rely on it to choose parts that work together. Pagination handles it as a database publishing job: the product data holds the facts, the InDesign template holds the layout rules.

Many Brands, One Consistent Catalog

Distributors receive product data from each manufacturer in its own format, with different attribute names, units, image sizes and naming conventions. Manufacturers with several sub-brands face the same problem internally. Pagination maps every source to a shared structure, so cameras from two brands sit side by side with the same columns, and adding a new brand means mapping its feed, not designing new pages.

Cameras, Readers and Detectors Need Different Tables

Resolution, lens and IR range describe a camera; credentials, protocols and I/O describe an access controller; zones, outputs and grade describe an alarm panel. One generic table hides exactly what installers look for. Pagination changes the table by product category, takes the columns from the product attributes and adds compatibility notes, such as supported recorders, readers or expansion modules, wherever the data provides them.

Approvals That Change From One Market to the Next

The same detector can carry an EN 50131 grade in Europe and a UL listing in North America, and a recorder may need an NDAA compliance note for US government projects. Approval marks and ratings come from the data, per SKU and per market, together with linked datasheets and drawings, so an expired certificate drops out of the next edition instead of staying in print.

Dormakaba

Dormakaba, the global access control and security door hardware manufacturer, produces its price lists with Pagination for several of its national organizations in Europe.
Each country edition is generated from the product data rather than maintained by hand.

What Pagination Automates for Security Distributors and Manufacturers

Behind each line of a security catalog is a record with specifications, approvals, accessories, successor models and prices for several customer tiers. That one record feeds the catalog, the datasheet and the installer price list, so all three stay consistent.

Security requirementHow Pagination handles it
Multi-brand distributor catalogsSupplier feeds mapped to one structure, with brand sections and logos placed from the data
Spec tables by technologyDifferent columns for CCTV, access control, intruder and fire, chosen by product category
Compatibility and accessoriesMounts, power supplies, modules and licences listed next to the products they fit
Discontinued modelsEnd-of-life products flagged or removed, with the recommended successor shown in their place
Kits and system bundlesKit contents listed from the component SKUs, with the kit price from your data
Installer, integrator and distributor pricingA separate price list for each customer tier, from one base price and per-tier coefficients
Grades, ratings and approvalsEN 50131 grades, EN 54, UL, IP and IK ratings printed as data fields per SKU and market
Datasheets and installation drawingsLinked per-SKU files placed or referenced automatically
Country editionsLanguage, currency and approvals switched per market within the same template
Price list releasesA new edition on every price update, with each release kept on file
