Important Note: This service is ideal for scenarios where only the values in the data file change. If you add or remove rows, the link between your InDesign file and the data file will be disrupted. For projects requiring frequent row additions or deletions, we recommend using the Pagination service and formatting your data file in a standard way.

How It Works

Follow these steps to ensure a seamless and automated data import process:

• Insert Value References in InDesign
  To import data values, insert the corresponding cell coordinate from your spreadsheet into the InDesign document, enclosed in square brackets. For example: [C1]. This tells the system exactly which cell to use for that section of the document.
  
  If your data file contains multiple sheets, specify the correct sheet name before the cell reference. Use the format [sheet1:D4], where “sheet1” is the sheet name and “D4” is the cell coordinate. This ensures data is pulled from the appropriate sheet, keeping your document accurate and organized.
• Upload the InDesign Package File
  Upload your InDesign package, including the IDML file, fonts, and links, to Pagination.
• Upload the Spreadsheet
  Upload the formatted spreadsheet to Pagination and let the system generate the document automatically.
